Default Resleeve ls block to 85mm for ls turbo.. Good idea??

Im plannin to send out one of my cracked ls block to get it resleeve. I want to bore it out to 85. mm and most likely gonna get me some je pistons and eagle rods.. U guys think its safe if i bore it out all the way to 85?? i want more torque and boost. I want to boost all day and the engine wont blow.. U think 85 can handle that kind of pressure?

I have mine sleeved to 84.5 and its fine. As long as you use high-quality sleeves it wont be an issue.

I was told though 84.5 is probably the max to go for b18b1. If you had a B20, then u could go with a 86.5

of course it's a good idea to sleeve it, the only thing you have to worry about is how much you boost. if you bore to 85mm, i don't think you can rebore if something were to happen

If i were to sleeve my motor 83mm would be the best since if something happen you can bore it out, If you going with 85mm and something happen consider is gone. The different wont be that big either so it not worth it

largest i'd go is 84.5 on any b-series. b20's are b18 blocks with the stock sleeves punched to 84. service limits on stock b-sleeves is 84.5 even if its a b20. some aftermarket performance sleeves claim 86-86.5mm. i dont trust out that far especially with boost simply for strength and overheating issues.

i'd say 84 or 84.5 is your best bet

boring to 84.5 on stock sleeves brings down lifespan and reliability so much. theres too many factors to say if you'll feel a difference. a rod/piston motor you could get more than 11-12 lbs out of the motor reliably and you will notice a difference from that. i'd be more concentrated on pistons and rods than boring stock sleeves to 84.5.

i would keep it at 84 mm. dont make it too big cuz then the sleeves wont be as thick and strong. for boost keep it at 84 mm and for NA u can go up in the bore

so i should just buy je pistons and eagle rods instead, of wasting my money on gettin it bore out?

So what your trying to say is boring out my block kill my engine faster?
It wont be reliable as much as a stock block?

I thought it helps your motor to run stronger, and more reliable...

Questions regarding woudl u feel a difference?

Well before i had 84.5 mm I woudl hit around 160ft/lb of tq at 4k. Now its nearly 190ft/lb

All on 8psi and a T3/T04E 57 Trim .63A/R turbine.

So i'd say it makes a diff from 81 - 84.5 in the TQ area

no way. lol

13's are attainable with an 8psi setup on a fairly decent sized turbo and good tuning. (full body full interior).

Most of those greddy kits n **** run low 14's

11's aren't likely on this type of setup. throw some 880cc injectors and a hondata into the mix and now were talking

injectors are to small if your going to hit 11's and your damn sure not going to do it on fmu. i with t3mp3st get some 880's and some sort of standalone i/e hondata or chip programs such as uberdata or crome
