Has any one done this?
If so, could you give me a detailed write-up on how to do this.
My local shop said they would do it for around $350, but I don’t have that kind of money right now.
I got a new wheel bearing for $50.
I have the whole knuckle removed, but nor sure where to go from here on.
Tried looking for info both in the “Archive content” on this site and in the repair manual, but there is nothing about EK wheel bearings or knuckles.


P.S.
Also, is there a difference between EG and EK knuckles/wheel bearings?

 

i had mine replaced a few months ago on my 96 coupe. replacing the bearing isn't something you can do with normal tools. the bearing has to be pressed out and a new one pressed in. you can try taking the bearing assembly to a shop and see if they will do it for you and then put it back on yourself. that would work.

 

You're right. My dad used a hand-press at work to put it together.
New wheel bearing and ball-joint replacement came out to under $180. Would have been cheaper, but messed up the first bearing, so had to buy another one.
Oh, well, still better than paying over $300 for just the wheel bearing.

 

Do you know how many tons the press was he used? Was it a bench mounted press or one of those big *****?
