Default Tranny Conversion Worth it?

alright here is the deal,

i came up on a 92 integra for $1,000. body condition is good. motor is ok. tranny is auto. should i convert the tranny to stick? how much do ya'll think it'll cost?

if your just goin to swap for a stock transmission then aell up and buy, but if you want a custom or tranny from something else then swap them over.

it's worth it, especially for that price you got that da for. You should only ask the ppl who actually done it also.
Some ppl will say its unreliable and waste of time, the one's who actually done it will say it's quite reliable if its done right.

In my experience, the swap was easy and reliable.

I think you should convert it to a stick. It should cost you 800 with a good clutch kit.

I would do it... I did do it to a 95 LS. It works exactly the same as a factory installed 5 speed. I take that back, it works better because I also upgraded to a LSD and better shifter.

i did it to mine, if you can do it yourself its worth it, but if you pay someone its not.. labor is killer on that....

cost me around 1100
good clutch
b16 tranny
hasport mount
the rest is cheap..

i did mines. i have a 96 ls, put a si 99 tranny, stage 3 and 9 pound fly wheel. quick. but ****. alot of money into it. if i were you and the mistake i made. is by all the damn parts you need. double check. and **** get the conversion mount from hasport.on a hydraulic tranny mount. please what ever you do . get all the **** first.dont be a dumb *** like me and finally get it after a year. by the way. you will need to customize a line to the clutch or some ****. not sure but also if im not mistaking and if all tegs are the same ****. you will need to drill holes in the floor board for the 3 linkages that your going to need . if its a hydraulic tranny. and dont forget get. PRAY.

i did mine in an 88 hatch. I dont know how tegs are but all of the holes 4 the peddle asmbl were stamped n the fire wall. all u gotta do is drill and weld, took about 3 hours plus junkyard time. Good luck

I Have an 94 Integra and i also want to swap the tranny to make it stick. I think it would be a good investment if you plan on keeping your ride for awile. i plan to get mine done by the summer.

im in the process of doing that myself...i bought a 96 ls auto for 2300 bucks!!! it only has 99k on it and its more than worth it! of course im doing some improvements not just changing it over. im going to run a full braided steel clutch line, motor mount inserts clutch/flywheel with a gsr trans, oh and cant forget convert it to obd1 def worth it good luck
