Default help me install my iceman intake

sup guys. im a super newbie when it comes to installing stuff. i read minty dip home page about installing a AEM CAI. I was wondering if there some shortcuts i can take, since im only want to instal the street version/short ram part of the iceman. so i need to take of my wheel and the white box thingy. or can i just swap out my old intake/tubing and put the short ram in.

thanks for the time.....

You do NOT need to take off the wheel to get te wite air box out. You just need unbolt a few bolts under the wheel fender well, then you should find te two bolts holding the air box on. Its very simple, your first time my take a while, but the second time will be easy.

Hey!

Having installed both the short, and the cai...

With the short, you don't have to touch the fender liner or wheel, but most of the air intake assembly will remain intact, and just sit there. Personally, I would recommend that you go ahead and remove the stuff under the fender liner just because it's bulky and takes up weight.

To install the short intake, just remove the plastic airbox (there are three screws I think). Then, remove the rubber hose that goes from the air box to the intake manifold. Once you are under the hood everything will make sense. Just so you know, the plastic tube under the airbox will just rest there...it just slides into the airbox, and isn't attached with anything.

tweakmeister: thanks for the reply. u from MD too, cool. i live near college park. anyways today was a nice day to work on the car, but i couldn't stand how dirty my car was so i washed it instead. didn't have enough time to start messing w/ the intake. i'll try to do it this week.

btw, how long did it take u to install it for the 1st time. u have iceman right? how long does it really take to convert from CAI to short? can i like pull over and change it?

sorry for the billions questions
