where can i buy a 2" gauge that can tell me how much oil i have in the car
well an oil pressure gauge isn't going to tell you how much oil is in the car. An oil pressure guage will tell you oil pressure. Im not sure if there is an oil level guage, I bet there is though, but what I use is a dip stick.

You dont need an oil level gauge. If you want something close though get an oil pressure gauge. If your oil pressure gauge suddenly shows low pressure, then you know that the system is not getting enough oil. So you are either low on oil or you have enough oil, but something is broken.
If you do decide to install an "oil level" gauge you might as well get some gauges installed to monitor your windshield washer fluid reservoir and your coolant overflow tank. Cause we all know how difficult it is to check the fluid levels on those.

Maybe rig up a switch in the sump area that would ground a low oil light(sounds mighty close to the function of an oil pressure switch) But you need to open the hood first.
