Anyone buy a rear disc sonversion from hmo
Did it come with everything. thing is I have two bad rear wheel bearings and the back drums pads and hardware is all shot.. and for 175 dollars thought that it was a good investment.
thanks
thanks
i didnt get mine from hmo , but i only paid $100 at the junkyard and pulled mine off a teg. You ought to check the junkyard first, and if you end up pullin em yourself your gonna have plenty fun with the ebrake cables

you act as if there junk just because they came from the junkyard. Why would you spend and extra $75 plus the shipping when you can go to the junkyard and pick up a set for cheaper. Then you can use the extra money you would have spent , and you could put that towards other parts. Im just trying to help you save a lil cash and make more of your money.

I got a whole braking system off of an integra for $100 from a junkyard. If you know how to take them off then you should try to find a junkyard, it's not hard anyway just a bunch of bolts.

no i didnt mean junkyard is crappier (since i got mine from a yard too). when i said for "non-junkyard" i just meant cuz at a yard, you have to take it off yourself so its cheaper. but when "businesses" sell them, they are a little more expensive i guess cuz they had to take it off the car. like import auto salvage sells them for 250 + shipping on ebay sometimes i think. so i just thought 175 seemed a little cheap. maybe HMO is just selling the knuckles, hub, etc. while import salvage would be selling trailing arms and the whole setup.

Import Auto Salvage has one MAJOR feature that no junkyard can contend with, they guarantee their parts! I have bought many things from them & if I ever had a problem with a part, they made sure to take care of it. These guys know what their doing, and they include a 40/40 proportioning valve for your 92-95 civic or del sol swap. No matter where you get your brake swap from, you will have to replace rotors, pads & hardware so keep that in mind.
One more thing, their rear disc swaps are ALWAYS for sale on their andale buy now store (click here)!

yea i talked to the guy from hmo and he said that you'll have to get new rotors and/or have them turned, which is also an extra couple of bucks.

he probaly already had drum brakes so he just used the old cables. Just a thought<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Meshmasteryow »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Umm, I took the control arms, trailing arms, cables, booster and master cylinder when i did it.</TD></TR></TABLE>
as did I, I gotta go back and get the proportion valve though

Correct, but you can't re-use old pads when you turn rotors, so throw in a new set of pads. And you don't want to use new pads without new hardware, so you better get shims, springs & retainers too. It's also necisarry to clean & lube the caliper guide pins or else your calipers will end up freezing over time.
This isn't the kind of swap that you can just bolt on & go. When these parts sit in a junk yard for ANY amount of time, they deteriorate quickly. You have to do a full brake job on used suspension parts.
Just letting you know what your getting into...

yes it does. but search a little, i rmember reading a thread by Tom saying that all you had to do was replace the master cylinder from a 99-00 Si and you'll be set. I could be wrong though. sorry Tom if i am haha
