A friend of mine recently bought a civic. He wanted me to come over and check his timing belt. Upon removing the valve cover, i noticed that it had all kinds of black crusty deposits all over the top (part that holds the cam down i cant remember what theyre called) I checked another D16 with 40k miles more on it and it was clean. Any insight or advice on how to clean or even if it needs cleaning would be great. Thanks.
