Default What car should I buy now?

Nothing will ever replace my car.....

I talked to an attorney today, and he seems to think my car was totalled, and the chances of me getting my money back for the add-ons is not good. But I have to move on....I'll go to different dealerships next weekend to test drive different cars. I'll have to get something soon since I have a full time job and full time college.

I called the Acura dealership and they say that all the type Rs are mostly scavenged, so I'm not sure if there are any even left....

I want something that is pretty fast stock, so i don't have to dump a bunch of $$ into it and then have it all taken away from me like last Friday.

I'd like to stick with something Japanese or foreign.

The reason I added the supercharged gsr is because no matter what kind of accident you get in (i'm not saying that you will, and hope you don't again)
you can take the supercharger off.
Also it will be quecker than the ls or rs motor right out of the box and than with a jrsc supercharger it will be reliable and you might even run a 20 shot of nos for some 12's at the track.....

Just my 0.2 cents.....

I'm starting to look at the 300Z cars now.....It looks like I might be able to pick one up for $15k-$20k for a '96 with about 70,000 miles on it.

These do high 13s stock? Are they easily upgradeable and usually reliable? I'm pretty sure they come w/ 300 hp stock, and they are rear wheel drive.

Insurance would be murder on one of these, though!!
Dammit, I just want my integra back.

Do you have any parts from your car you want to sell?

Can't you remove all or most of the aftermarket parts that were on your integra. I understand some of it may be destroyed, but lots of it is probably still good. If you really want your integra back, get a new one, and build that up to the level yours was at.

Or don't you want to go through all that again? I could undertand...I did an engine swap in my car, and if someone destroyed it I may also get the thought of another car. But, if it is your old integra you really want, build another one!

Degradated man I would honestly suggest try staying away from the Z's... They are nice ad all but have you opened the hood to one.. It's way to compact wih very little room to work with.. Honestly if you go with a used car shoot for the Supra TT. Room to work with great top end ad very little money gets you very good results.

if you're looking at a z then get the 95. 96 lost ~20hp due to stricter emissions and also does not have an ecu upgrade, which btw seems to be the best bang for your dollar.

I think you should look into the two cars that I'm dying for now. Either a Supra TT or an old NSX. My friend got a 92 NSX. It wasn't a big deal, just another NSX. That model comes w/ the black roof so he painted it white like the car, no biggie. He dropped it, no big deal. Put the Comptech exhaust on it, no big deal. He then showed up w/ 19's in the back, 18's in the front, white 546 HRE's and I came right there in my pants. I jock the ******* car now. You should look into one of those also. And they are really quick. I'm sorry about your car though man. Good luck on your next purchase.

If I were to buy a car this is what I would buy.
-LS1 WS6
-WRX
-350z(if it were out yet)
-Supra ( I would get one, but hard to find good cars with good deals)

vr6k, if you ever thought about 95-99 don't bother..tranny can't even handle power output from factory specs and they tend to have electrical probs... Take my word 5k in repairs is not fun to look forward too, and the same occured in my 2 other friends vr6 and they were purchased new not used. Now the 1.8t is something you can consider 180hp to start with...Chip it and add another 30 hp and 50 ft/lb of torque with downpipe and exhaust should keep ya a happy man.

It sucks because you guys are so restricted with your selection of cars. The 2002 WRXs that they sell here come with the 280HP STi version as an option. IF you had that available for selection, i'd recommend to get that. You might have to use a bit more effort to extract power out of that 180HP, but i've heard from a friend who drives a WRX, that if you swap the head of the new 2002 engine with the 240/260/or 280HP head from a 99-00 WRX, it will give you a lot of increased power. Turbo upgrades with an ECU, and you're set. Only problem with Subaru's is the gears. They break real easy, you can't be rough with the gearstick like you can with a honda or a mitsu.

I'd stay away from the 300ZX unless you are planning on keeping the engine stock. As someone else said, very hard to modify a VG30DETT engine, its just too big, and not enough room for mad mods. Unless you drop in a Nissan RB26DETT (Skyline GT-R32/33/34) or a Toyota 2JZ-GTE (Supra TT) engine - its been done here in Thailand and in Japan.

The Supra isn't such a bad idea, but still, the ones that are being sold 2nd hand have usually been beaten by their previous owners. If you find one, you'd better get that engine checked real well.

You know, for that money, you could buy a 2nd hand Evo 6 here. I bet you're crying now

Just do up another Honda if you can't make up your mind. Civic EK hatchback with a mad turbo setup. CRVTEC turbo. Mmm...

nathan, the majority of supras here are grocery getters or occasional weekend beach cruisers... at least around me, that is!

The damn rich people around here... a Supra TT sits outside in the sun and rain, the heat and cold, just cuz they just got a new mercedes...

BLAH! but supras arent so often abused around here... but they do cost quite a bit since the cars get professionally detail every weekend and have low miles cuz they'd rather drive their mercedes. Poor car... wish I could just steal it and give it a better home... but thats fucked up, so I cant.
