I would like to take it to a state ref to have it smogged and get my sticker. i was wondering do u need any kind of paper work or receipt for the motor? because i got this motor from a friend. The motor is not stolen it just dont have any paper for it.

some smog stations will require paperwork and proper documentation for the ecu. Check around from people in your area that has gone and see what they say

yeah, they may ask u to go to Honda and tell them to verified that it's the correct ecu , on paper. It all depend on the ref guy. Good Luck

i'll be running the stock gsr ecu. The p72 only thing is i dont have any paper for the motor since it came out of my friends wreck gsr. So what do u mean by they might ask me to take my car to honda to have it verified if it's got the rigth ecu?

All you need is a bill of sale from the original owner for the motor, tranny, and ECU.

im gettin only the long block. so no tranny. So do u have any past experience on smogging a car and passing it? anything i should look out for? i'll be running the gsr motor with my b16 tranny with the p72 ecu and i think the current cat on my car is for an LS. Thats what im worried about if its gonna throw anything off?
