the gray plug is the solenoid (one wire) and the green plug is the oil pressure switch (2 wire).

it looks like you need a new switch. it should be pretty easy to find one used in the classifieds or on a junked EX civic (or any vtec car for that matter)

Cant remember, but are there any differences between the z6 and y8 vtec solenoids? I thought I remembered seeing they have different flanges, or maybe I'm on crack.

cool so i'll only get the switch..(green part)..someone said i would have to buy the whole solenoid..thank goodness!! so it should be no problem ..what about autopart stores will they sell the parts there? the guys said auto parts don't mess with vtec related parts

also if i'm not mistaken...i'm gonna be running the wire from my ecu (p28) A4 & D6 to the piece of the engine harness that i'm holding in my hand..correct?..and then i plug it into the oil pressure switch and that should make the vtec run?
