Default Western Washington click here...

EDIT

Anyone know of any private property that we could race on? I will do what I need to do as far as contacting owners and having waivers drawn up if need be. I like many would like to keep racing off the streets but I don't like having an hour drive to the closest tract to see if my buddy can beat me. Just want some old fashioned local street racing in a safer environment.

Places south of Tacoma would be great, come on, I want to play too. I know Olympia Regional Airport in Thurston County was an option but I heard the Port of Olympia shot that down real fast. I'm a pilot so I was going to try again and try to address some of their issues they had. I was also thinking about the Chehalis airport. Anyone contact the Port down there? Anyone know of any other private property?

I'm sure this has been tried before but I want to try again. I don't want to have to drive to Seattle, Bremerton, Portland or where ever. I want something crude and close to home.

your complaining about expensive track events? You bought a type r, pay the ridiculous insurance, worry about the theft and all you can say is that the track events are expensive?

Hahaha.... where did you go? Cruise the industrial parks in down town Kent or was it Renton? Your best bet is to bite your nails for the rest of the winter and wait for Pacific Race Way to open up, Monroe and you can go to Solo II events out in Bremerton but none of this **** happens for another three months at least.

Just stay away from the street races. Those kent cops and renton cops will **** your world up.

Aloha,
Brandon

Thanks Mike-that was what I was looking for. Yes-any info would be great. I would assume its paved. I would like to contact the owner just because. I know I could get a bunch of cars to head up...

No I'm not omplaining about expensive track events...

And **** Kent and Renton. Wouldnt be caught there if I was already dead...

And I'm not unhappy about the cops showing up. They show every time...it goes hand in hand. I also don't want to deal with it, or kill myself, another racer, or the family down the street trying to get home. Nor do I want any of my friends do be in any of those shoes.

Just looking for places like Mike suggested. Somewhere to go race a few times and not have to make a whole night about it, and still be legal at the same time.
Burlington is quite a drive though...that would be an all nighter. I just want to be able to race with all my friends, cause they all don't go to tracks. Just looking for a place near by.

Ryan

if i had an airffield i wouldnt let people use it, alot of people racing are **** tards and whats up with hearing about people bringing guns to races in kent?

maybe if people stopped being 2gay and 2furious, stopped bringing guns, stopped getting wasted before racing, stopped with the drugs at the races and stopped stealing everything in site it would be easier to find a place to race permanitley

I agree.

I would totally go to the tracks if my friends came along. Unfortunately I doubt I can get them to all come every weekend. Not worried about cost, maybe that was the wrong thing to say. In fact-I'm going to edit my post above, cause this thread is susposed to me about finding some private property that we could use. I would do the leg work, but I need some places to investigate.

Take it to the track:
- There are VDS days in Vancouver if you want to drift. There's one next weekend. - $100
- There are autox events all over the Puget Sound area. - $45
- There are track events almost every weekend at PR, PIR, or Mission. They're going on now. - $400 - $150
- Drag racing goes on 1 or 2 times a week at PR and 1x a week at PIR. - $45

Hell -- there's even roundy-round in Elma I believe.

Keep it off of the street.

Still, at $45 dollars that almost $200 a month to race a friend or two on a Friday or Saturday night. Not that I wouldnt go to the track on occasion but I dont feel like spending that much money for a race or two. I doubt I'd be able to get 5 of my friends to pay the $45 to go to the track, let alone every week.

I guess you guys are missing my point. Just looking for places to go, local, legal and free, for me and my friends and all the other local guys.

I-90 Express lanes over the water. Its about 1.25 miles of straight, flat, 2-lane road with 3ft barriers on each side, and water after that. If you screw up, theres no center divider to cross...etc etc...Best place I've found to race from a roll.

And last year, if you paid the membership fee (which is like $15 dollars or so?) Each drag event at Pacific was only $25. If you and/or your friends cannot handle a $25 dollar fee for up to 6 hours of drag racing, you are in the wrong hobby, cars cost money.

Your prices are a bit inflated but in the general area. Brandon mentioned above that Solo II events don't happen for another 3 months but I spent all day yesterday (30+ runs) on a 70 second autox course for $25. There is racing around, you just have to look for them.

Oh, and I saw your car at the course yesterday. Corolla w/ an 86 sticker right? I was the guy in the white hatch. Watched you make a couple of runs.

Ahh! Nice car man! I was on the phone telling penpen about your car. It seemed to handle quite nicely - I was impressed.

That was my first autox in a RWD car and only 2nd overall... lol. Had some trouble putting the power down, and the suspension needs a little more tuning. I ran some crap times. I'm in the process of sorting the car out. LSD goes in ASAP as do poly bushings. We'll see how it goes from there.

That VHT was crazy... I saw you get sideways a couple times as well.

I was wondering what was done to your car based on the performance/sound, etc. I'll take that offline with you.

You should have said hi, Zach. Hope to see you at the next TS event. You should come out to PR with us (fso_BamBam, penpen, and 92TypeR this year).

Free? LOL! Do you know what kind of liability risk the property owner would be putting himself in?
