Clutch and Flywheel
95 del sol si. I'm thinking about getting a high performance clutch and flywheel but am a little worried about blowing my tranny. I know in the supra if you go for a flywheel that is too lite it could blow it to bits. It's not like i have a 720hp del sol but, I am just curious about some common weights of performance flywheels. My clutch is also definitely in need of replacement, what's the best 1st stage you can get?
Thanks!
Thanks!
some people love or hate clutch masters.
i have a stage 4 i have had no issues with. if you are going to stay relatively stock, a stage 2 with a cm lightened flywheel will do you fine.

I love my exedy clutch and fidanza 8.5lb flywheel. Takes alittle getting use to as with all new clutches and flywheels but once you do you love it. Not saying CM isnt good but your looking for more of a street clutch and i picked up the clutch and flywheel for $400 brand new shipped. But get what you would like the only way you will know that is by experimenting. Friend has the same setup on his turbod Si boostin 10lbs for 2 years and still going strong but the choice is yours. Good luck
I think the only time you really need to worry about a flywheel shattering/breaking is if you lighten the stock flywheel too much.
I've never personally witnessed it, but I've heard of it happening.
You shouldnt have anything to worry about if you get a good aluminum or chromoly flywheel.
