skunk2 stage2 vs. jun3?
which one is the best one between the two?? someone in groupbuy sale some skunk2 stage2 and claim it to make 22hp and from i been told and heard the jun 3 make 20hp. i tried to look up the spec on these cams but there wasn't anything on the skunk2 site and the jun site didn't seem to work. what to you guys think....
if its true i guess i'll go with skunk plus it's cheaper then the jun.

ask the seller for the specs of the skunk2's stage 2
Skunk2 Stage II
INTAKE lift- 12.07 mm, duration 265 @ 1mm
EXHAUST lift - 11.6 mm, duration 256 @ 1mm
Jun Type 3
INTAKE lift - 12.0 mm, duration - 265.3 @ 1mm
EXHAUST lift - 11.5 mm, duration - 265.3 @ 1mm
from h-tech these are what the specs are....
and looking at it...skunk2's can make the same or more power than the 3's
ask the guy if he can get you the same ones. (spec)

General statement here. Lift and duration don't tell the whole story about a cam. You need to look at how the lobe ramps up and down. This will greatly effect the power curve of the engine. Frank Lin posted a comparison of stock ITR lobes a while back and if I'm not mistaken both had the same lift but they were not the same cam.
Yes.. ramp rate has a lot to do with general cam performance.
Why else would Toda Spec A's perform so much better than many similar cams such as Crower, etc.?

yep : ramp and flank rates - usually never released as a spec.
I don't know if there is a standardized way to report these for comparison.
That would be cool if you people who have access to these cams for testing could measure these and start collecting the numbers for comparison purposes.
How do you measure flank and ramp angle again?
so which one would you guys consider the better one to buy? looks like the skunk2 stage 2 has alittle bit more lift. so i should go with the jun3 since it's been out there longer then the skunk stage 2 and been known to be very good.
I really think that JUN 3 would be the better buy, but im just speaking out of my ***, there is really no way to tell untill you get them both on the dyno

I'm sure there will be a nice little GAP in pricing between the two.
Skunk2 knows a thing or two about all-motor performance, but they won't charge the $1000.00 plus for their cams like JUN does.
I'm very interested to see how the new Skunk2 stuff will perform. i'm a bang-for-buck guy, so I could give a rat's *** about the name as long as it makes good, reliable power - as in NOT breaking in half like the Crower bullshit.
