there are 2 types of blizzak's. one does better in dry cold weather, the other does better on snow/ice but still good on dry cold. i hope that makes sense. i forgot which is which though

Why do you say that? The WS-50 may handle better in the snow but you have to consider the times that there isn't snow on the ground. The LM-22's are H-rated which would be better suited for when there is no snow on the ground because they will still provide characteristics of a performance tire and still provide a speed rating close to OEM spec. WS-50's are Q-rated which is a softer rubber compound which will tend to wear quicker and give less responsive handling. You want to stay as close as possible to the OEM speed rating. I have the LM-22's and they handle fine in the snow and they feel nimble when the roads are dry.

I'm actually lookin for a winter beater myself. My kum"hoes" suck in the winter. heck, they're not that good in the summer. Why would you messup those s2 rims up anyway with all the snow. either buy a cheap beater for 4 months outta the year or get a pair of cheap wheels from a junk heap and toss 2 winters on 'em. Newspapers usually have a couple cheapie wheels in the classifieds

a just in case situation, going from awd to rwd. learning something new. i didn't really get to drive my mr2 in the winter time.
