Interesting thread.... you think drag racing is bad RE: multiple sanct bodies??
well now it's hitting drifting...
http://www.drifting.com/forums...pp=15
Formula D (FD) is the FIRST US drift series, run by Slipstream Global (which is owned by Vision Entertainment aka Hot Import Nights). This year, Primedia decided to start up their own drifting series, called World Drifting Championships. Nearly all the dates are in direct conflict, forcing the drivers to make a choice. They're torn between the more established FD and the newer series WDC which is offering bigger payouts and alot of mag coverage.
The first 2 pages of that thread will give you a rundown of the situation, and how the drivers feel. In case you don't know Alex Pfeiffer (who started the thread) is one of the best US Drifters, and several of the top 10 drivers are commenting in that thread.
Also of note:
page 6 - formula drift gives their side of the story
page 7 - former NIRA Director Craig Lieberman makes some comments, and relates them to the current drag racing scenario.
good read

good read
Rob from modified just chimed in on page 7... this thread is getting big!!
I don't really care about drifting, but the post on pg. 7 from Lieberman is about as dead on as it gets.
In reading his post I've become more fearful of the NHRA and it's plans for "sport compact racing" They will be showing off our sport at the powerade events this year but only prorwd will show it's stuff off at the U.S. Nationals. If prorwd is to take the place of pro stock truck
nothing good
. The NDRA would back us up for sure but if there are no sponsors and no tracks to race at then what?
It's a good read check it out
