Default Cam gear adjustment

hey is there in any benifent in advancing the cams to 4 degrees rather then them stock?

let me get some info on the subject

I wouldnt suggest advancing or retarding your cams at all until you can get to a dyno to see the best setting. You might even lose power if you just try and find a setting instead of finding it the right way. Or even worse you could damage your motor by messing with the settings without tuning your whole motor to those settings. So its up to you but i wouldnt recommend touching them until you can get to a dyno.

If your cams are stock they allready have the optimal timing throughout the power range. Camgears would do you no good.

yeah they are not stock, but i talked tho this guy who works at a shop and recommended getting it dynoed and tuned when doing this, otherewise he said it may throw off your whole tunning

is there a noticable gain with advancing them?

adjusting the cam gears is a form of tuning, if your not on a dyno, ur doing it blind... So take their advice and leave it alone till u have it on a dyno...
