Ok so I said I wanted an ITR.... but I lack funds. So I asked some buddies if they thought anyone would trade (lower insurance, theft, etc.) and they said no way... I started wonderin and decided to post and see. I will be at Expo if anyone wants to see the car in action.
Here's the deal. I have a modded GSR in Detroit, MI and I REALLLY want an R. I love the 97R CW (higher mileage) and the deal is the R has so many feature's stock that I want and that in MI R theft is VERY low. Ever since the day I bought the GSR and did more and more research I wanted a basically stock R to learn on.
Car was owned first by older lady (I am the third owner) and she drove it like... an old lady, then college student from Hong Kong at U of M that drove it LITERALLY 4K miles in 4 years, car has seen only 3 winter's (one winter I had to drive it washed EVERY DAY). underbody is PERFECT. Since I have owned car oil changed RELIGIOUSLY every 2K-2.5K miles with AMS 10W-30. All service preformed.
So here's the deal trade with some possible cash for higher mileage R (mileage TBD on responses)
My Car: 1996 Acura Integra GSR Milano Red, 102,xxx miles (less than 8K on all mods, >50 miles on suspension, >3K miles on cams, azenis around 3K with NO track time, car has never been... yet, I wasn't 18 and legal).
Engine: AEM CAI, Skunk2 IM, Hondata Heatshield Gasket, PSI valvesprings, ITR retainers, CTR cams, Hondata S200 w/ custom dyno tune by Tom at Payn Tech (164.9 and 117.8 with 100,000 cat and 16x6.5 CDR-9's on shitty 205/55R-16 Grand Spirit Aqua Flow GTX tires... in other words like 10HP higher now on Mustang Dyno), Comptech header, Carsound cat, 2.5" cat-back
Trans: Clutchmasters stage III clutch, Clutchmasters (7lb) flywheel by fidanza, DC sport's short shifter
Suspension: Z10 Traction Bar, TEIN FLEX coil-over's, Prothane master bushing set
Wheel's and Tire's: 15x6.5" Rota Slip's, 205/50-R15 Falken Azenis, 2x GSR Blades with 205/55-R15 BFG Drag Radial's
Brakes: Hawk HPS pads, Goodrich SS lines, ATE super blue fluid, (ITR calipers purchased and Fastbrakes rotor's on order)
Interior: JDM ITR cluster, Solo sports shift ****
Exterior: clear corner's, Silver Star 9005 conversion
I may have forgotten some things and will update and I need some new pics of the car (up at school and just got a digi for x-mas soooo). I don't know I was just wondering I'm not even sure if I want to do it completely just wondering what you guys thought.
I tried to get all the big mod's done first and take care of the little things later, sooo what does everyone thinks?

OKAY, my webserver is RETARDED... so I'm havin someone else post it... I'll have more pics this weekend.

That is PRETTY much what I figured, kind of like a survey to see if anyone didn't want to deal with the theft and crime in other parts of the country but wanted a car JUST like an R.

Even if no one wanted to trade it is almost an impromtu survey. I don't even know if I would want to yet, the car means alot to me for sentimental value (long story). Just kind of a curiosity thing.
Take the money that you would put towards an ITR, sell all the NA junk on that heap, go turbo and laugh away the thought of owning a hype-r to the tune of a beautiful healthy spool.
You can thank me later

I don't want boost I want a GOOD street/track car. I've seen boosted cars, I don't want one. I want a good ALL around car... and a car that will do all the ITR will.
My friend you are sadly mistaken and I think if you were as informed as you say you are, that statement wouldnt have come from your keyboard.
Good luck!

Good luck!

yes! you can thank him...when youre **** broke...huhu
keep the car, upgrade the final drive. sounds like you spend a lot of time on the car....get a 4.929 drive and slap it on with a lighter flywheel. it will more fun than a stock ITR
edit: most people get an itr just because they dont want to go through the hassle of modding the car so much...in this case you've done everything except upgrade the gearing. the 4.929 should definately fix that...even with the longer gsr gearing

okay, I know the boost is awesome and the total ability of it is AMAZING... I also can't afford the upkeep. That is the main reason for this. I don't need some crazy suspended tuned car, I need a stock R to learn on that's all. It's more about MY experiance and wallet.
I'm young, I'm trying to learn. I could make some crazy track car.... but I can't use it. I need a stock R and I need to learn.

btw, if you havent tracked the car...why would you want a itr after spending all that time/effort/cash on your current integra?
4 things you would need, which would save you more time/cash than buying a itr:
1) azenis
2) lightened flywheel (comptech or equivalent heavier cromoly)
3) 4.929 final drive...which would effectively give you a much better gear ratio
4) about a 200 ft lb front / 200 ft lb rear suspension...no need for "coilovers"
and there you go. better than itr

Here is the deal. I was not 18 and parents would sign a waiver and I did not have a beater at the time so if anything DID happen I was screwed. I now realize how someone else could SOOO use this set-up more than me for the time and how a stock car would suit me so much better.
I know my car CAN be faster... but all I've been to is Skip Barber 3 day and I don't think that I necessarily COULD be faster.... btw sorry bout the size of the pic.

You would have a better chance if you parted out the gsr sold it and then bought an itr. I was basically like you, I bought a 2000 si built the engine and transmission. After I started to do research about the itr I realized I had to own one. One day I was picking up parts at Acura for my girl and they had one but said it was sold. Long story short I bought it 3 hours later. I took it home that night. They let me take my si home and pulled the cams, valvetrain, jdm fd, lsd, hondata, sk2 manifold and much more. I took a huge lose on my si but it was worth it and I love my itr. I do wish I would of waited to sell my si to get more money and find a 98 CW that would of cost much less.

for a person who comes to forum askin questions, you dont read too well.
dbl ey mentions the wing, i mention the 4 items. they'll blow an itr out the water.
but if youre getting a itr just b/c its an itr, i think it'd be a dumb mistake, but hey, its your cash.
FYI: on the track...the speed that you propel yourself through the course matters how fast the car AND how capable the driver is.

okay I know that they will blow an ITR out of the water... hell my car will KILL an ITR. The point is that I, from talking to people, need that good base and a car to learn off of. I can easily make my car faster but the stock package of the R is what I was looking for. The difference's are vast and the car is built so well out of the box that that is what I need it for. I could have a 2.5RS or a WRX/WRX STi but the point is that for the person that needs to learn a WRX is WAY better than a 2.5 RS that is modified and fasted. I am young and have listened to what would best suit me... not just what gets a better lap time... if you think my car is faster trade me

ok. i have a itr with 35k on the clock with a jdm 4.7 fd and a comptech flywheel.
i'll trade you plus 15k.

Agreed. An ITR won't teach you anything about how to drive.
Keep your car, if you're so attached to it. You won't benefit much from having an ITR, except for being able to impress other import enthusiasts when you say "I have an ITR."

okay this post is going nowhere. Apperantly everyone missed the question and skimmed the first post. It was moreover seeing if anyone would trade me... oh and if my car is so much faster and everyone says I will spank an R (which my car will) why won't they trade me.
Because once you have an R we look at it as ITR vs GSR...and we will pick the ITR since we own one even thougth yours might be faster....I told you Bill that nobody is going to trade you, just stick with the GSR and learn from that.....theres nothing wrong with that...I'm sorry you have 3 friends that own ITR's and I know you feel a little left out....but it's ok....we still hate you.
j/k
P.S. My god man, resize that pic.....
j/kP.S. My god man, resize that pic.....
Thats like saying well someone has an EF hatch with 5k into it that will demolish an ITR in any fashion, road race, autox, drag...then why wouldnt they trade them?
This post is awful man, Im sorry. You have a capable car to learn on, yet you want an ITR because its like your car, but "out of the box"? The only advantage to having an ITR is so you can say you have an ITR, admit it.
You want to be a s00pah-rays-kah-dryvah? Learn on what youve got. You make it out to be as if you have an 87 K Car or something man....be grateful for what you have, especially at your age, and utilize it to the best of your abilities. Your car is so similar to what youre asking for its really a joke.
Oh, BTW, boosted for 54k and all Ive done is change the oil. Synthetic is pretty expensive though, so I guess you could call it one hell of an upkeep
After your generalizations, I take my statement back. Just keep your car and learn on it, because thats what you say you want a car for. If you dont like it sell it and buy something else. Most likely, the only person youre going to find to trade you is someone with 12k left in payments and they cant afford it so they trade it to you and sign over the paperwork.
