Warrenty Question?
Will placing a JDM header in a USDM Type R void the warrenty? I would think that it wouldn't because it is a honda part but I don't know. Anyone with a JDM header have problems with the service department?
The dealer cannot "void" the entire warrenty because they see one aftermarket part on your car. But, if something breaks and they can PROVE that the aftermarket part is to blame, your screwed. At least thats how I interperate it.
yes, dont take any bullshit from the dealer, as long as its not directly caused by the aftermarket mod or the installation then demand they fix it, if they give you and bullshit go talk to the district manager.
Hey just buy the headsheild and they wont even be able to tell the difference

Hey onyx00....Do you have the stock catback exhaust with your JDM 4-1 header and Carsound cat? If so did the car sound cat come with an adapter and what kind of gains did you notice?

my dealer told me if you touch any of the internals pistons, cams etc...that it will void the warranty...so external mods you really shouldnt worry.....and another thing, just because its a honda product(jdm4-1) **** they dont know...they just see some header and go on...some know though...so dont fret
My dealer told me over the phone, that a header would be fine. When I went there for a bad C.V joint, and talked to him face to face it was a different story. He told me that a header would void the warrenty.I can see if a 02 goes, but what the hell is a header going to do wrong to my car?He tried telling me that it can cause all kind of problems. What ever I will just try a different dealership in the spring.
This question comes up a lot, but no-one does any research into the warranty act.
Where you want to look is the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act passed in 1982. Rules are different for different situations, but most service departments are ignorant of this legislation...
For instance on my K&N filter it is illegal for the manufacturer to void my warranty
just because I use an aftermarket filter unless they provide filters free of charge..
Which they don't... Different story of course if I don't service the car properly and the non oem filter causes the problem.. then it's considered abuse and I'm out of luck... And should be...
So go check it out for yourselves...
good day eh..
