You can either paint them yourself, or pay a arm and leg to buy some that is already amber to fit.

Exactly. I just painted my corners with some Krylon Stained glass paint. You can find it at most arts & crafts stores. Also, you can find a similar paint at hobby/model shops. The paint itself shouldn't run more than $7.

This is a lot cheaper than buyin Vison amber corners which are expensive ($50+) and aren't even DOT legal ( lack of reflectors).

Clean the surface with some alcohol. Then spray on a couple of very thin layers of the paint. Then spray a layer of clear coat at the end. The key is just to make sure you keep your layers thin.

Paint can be hard to find, You can find them easily at Michaels Art and Supply store, it's called Krylon Stained Glass paint. like 5 buck and only need 1 bottle, just clean it, u can use very light sand paper to smoothen it out, a couple of thin layers of paint, and a couple of layers of clear.

got the paint at michaels for under $7. so i took the lights out and they are dirty little *******. so i am going to clean them and wetsand them because they looks as if they have never been taken out before. so a quick wetsand to smooth things up, a little alcohol to clean it, and then thin layers. ill take some pix and then you guys will have to help me post them, or host them for me and i can do the work.

That's the first I've ever heard of painting something with one thick coat over many thin ones.

I'm about to paint mines, i bought 2000grit fine sand paper, and the krylon stained glass paint, about to wash em up and clean them and start painting. I prefer thin layers, a lot of thin layers over a thick coat. Thin layers look more sexy and evened/balanced out. Just do a lot of layers, then clear the hell out of it.

WOW I have such bad luck. I am mad, I went to Michaels and bought the spray can, it was so old that the air decompressed out of the bottle, so it's defective. They also had 3 other bottles, but were all dead, so that's 3 timei went to Michaels. I also went to/call Lowes, Home depot, Wal Mart, Sherwin Williams, Garden Ridge, Joanns Fabric, Autozone, Asel Arts Supply, Ace Hardware and maybe more of the retail stores that are suppose to carry Krylon stuff, this F"n BLOWS. Anyone know where i can get some?

i took mine out the other day. talk about dirty caked on ****. so i cleaned them to get the crap off and noticed a few cracks that could be potential water leaks. so i am going out to the store to get clear silicone to seal where the lens meets the housing. (just an extra step now instead of later). after that i will be wet sanding the lens because they are 9+ years old and have some scratches and things of the sort. then i will be cleaning it with rubbing alcohol. guys, if you have a mom or a girlfriend or any kind of female friend, she has some. its the **** they clean earings and such with. i cant stress enough to make sure they are clean, or else you are just wasting your time. i actually soaked both lights in the sink the other night and am letting them air-dry for a few days. (yes the bulbs came out). so i am taking all steps in hopes of 100% perfect quality. a little elbow grease instead of $50+ for all ambers online. thus far ive spent about 30 minutes and roughly $7 for the paint. i need to look in the garage, but im sure ive got the sand paper and cleaning solution.

ill be taking some pix and i will see what i can do to get them up here on H.T. and a kind of "how-to" for future noobs as i am now.

actually you only do this with the krylon stained glass paint. if you do a bunch of thin coats, it will look dull and hazy in a couple of months. Then I read somebody did a heavy coat on one of the threads here and it stays amber without the fade.

you know on that link .... getting all clear APC and painting those wouldnt be a bad idea. my lights are 10 years old and have little things wrong that may affect the quality of the paint ....

any thoughts?

+ glass paint + my time + misc tasks needed = bad *** amber markers.
