No, totally different d-series. If you want a dohc D, get a blacktop zc, not the old green/olive top that the 1g tegs have.

^^^^ He's right. The 86-89 teg engines/trannys have totally different engine mounts. Even the bell housing bolt pattern is different.

yea.. i kinda thought that.. but it'll fit into the 3 rd gen civics and crx right.. cuz a fren of mine bout a 87 civic SI wit that particilar swap.. so the blacktop ZCs come out of the 88 and up right.. and that motor will bolt right up to the 89 civic right.. sorry to sound stupid but yea.. i guess i'll end up rebuildin muh D15.. thier anything that i can do to that.. i hear alott about puttin a vtec head on it.. sux to have dual port injection.. i have a very tight budget.. so a B series swap is out of the question.. so if there is anything that i can do wit the D15 i have .. drop me a line.. i hear webcam make cams for D15s.. lol

you can buy a zc for about 700 bucks for a complete swap. either that or just do a mini-me with you d15 block and a z6 or y8 head, z6 recommended more.

Just to be clear, there are a few different dohc ZCs out there and you need to be sure which one people are talking about. While the browntop is pretty much only good for the 3g civic/1g crx, you need to be aware that there is an early blacktop and a late blacktop. In fact there might even be more than one kind of each, both early and late! The early(s) fit the 3g civic/1g crx like the browntop and the late(s) fit the 88+ models. Also, never EVER call a D16A1 out of a 86-89 USDM teg a ZC. IT ISN'T! And try to correct others when they do it because it only causes confusion. Just trying to help those who didn't know.
