Cybernation Stage I Turbo Kit
ok guys ive been thinking and lookin and i havent heard one bad thing about cybernations kit for the rsx ,im really thinkin about getting it and i really like the idea of the "guardian" no tuning or anything just bolt on and go makes good power and its not that expensive , im just curious what yall think hit me back
or
or
I installed one a week ago and I have to say it's one of the most well equipped and straight-forward turbo kits I've ever seen. The Guardian is easy to wire in and it makes the car run like stock but with 70% more power
.
The instructions aren't the greatest, but anyone with mechanical knowledge can work it out. Just don't take any shortcuts, take your time and you'll end up with a car that's got more top end than you know what to do with.
Price/power/reliability = Cybernation's kit wins.

I've had mine for several months now and no problems from the kit.
Tell us how the guardian feels and pulls, when I got my CN kit Guardain wasn't out yet so I run with K-Pro.</TD></TR></TABLE>
The Guardian makes the car run like stock, i.e. perfectly driveable, no noticable loss of low end due to the T60-1 and pulls like a motherbitch when you get on it. I would never suggest getting rid of K-Pro in favor of the Guardian, but if I had the two as a choice, I'd get the Guardian simply due to the performance/dollar you gain. It took it 3 minutes to find a perfect idle with the 550cc injectors and turbocharger after firing it up for the first time in three days.
After that, the only reason you know there's anything going on is the spark cut when you're in super cold weather or pushing a dangerously lean condition. Oh, and the complete lack of traction once boost hits
. We're at 7psi and couldn't be happier with the car's performance. So driveable, so much fun. Highly recommended

awesome guys thanks but i got one more question ............ should i dump an extra grand and get the stage 2 with the pistons and rods and **** or just go with the stage one for now

How much experience do you have in working on internals. The $1000 pricetag is wonderful for what you get, but if you don't know how to measure, balance, prep and install that **** yourself you're looking at a large hidden cost.
Then again. If you have the downtime, I highly suggest it

IMHO they are no good. but i like HIGH quality parts and products. not knocking them, they just are not up to my standards. One-Fab did me a reaally good job. look into other products out there and see whats best for you

The only part of the kit that I found lacking was the finish quality of the manifold. It's perfectly stable and well braced, but Goddamn is it ugly. Aside from that, the DP is beautifully welded and comes with perfectly spaced O2 bungs, the Turbonetics T60-1 is self-explainatory and the injectors are friggin perfect. The connectors and intercooler and piping are all very nice.
So what all are you complaining about, exactly?

well ok for starters, a shop in san antonio Tx has done 4 of them and EVERY one EVERY ******* one has had to have the intercooler pipes grided and modified to fit. The first one had the manifold blow a hole in it after two days..thats when Cn was saying that the materials were defective and they didnt have a way of testing it. I called them out when it happened bc i know of MANY WAYS TO TEST MATERIALS without damaging products..they ignored that and after the guy made a big deal on clubrsx..cn replaced his manifold. The guardian does not tune as good as people are claiming..the ic piping rusts and corrodes. the manifold is not nice. a true quality manifold would not need the braces as they have on it. the injectors are the wrong impedance. the ic piping hangs down to low on every car i have seen. lets see do you want me to keep going? I wasnt going to turn this into a cn bashing thread. i just said I like them. I Like HIGH quality. if you claim cn is high quality you are kidding yourself. Yes they make hp, Yes clubrsx rides their nuts, yes some ppl have posted good hp and fast 1/4 mile times. but they are not high quality period point blank. Also my opinions are mine and mine only. they have nothing to do with one-fab. i dont work for them. this is just my honest opinion ive had ever since i saw their work on 6 cars in Tx. 4 in san antonio

Oh, that's fine. I wasn't calling you out to be a *****, I was just curious what problems you had with the kit. I cut up the pipes for the IC a lot, but that's because I wanted to tuck them in as close as I could because, as you noted, they do hang pretty low.
The Guardian, however, does tune as well as they suggest, and until you show me results that suggest otherwise, I'm going to assume that you're speaking from second or third-hand experience like everyone else who bashes it. I have first-hand experience with it, as well as first-hand experience with hand, street and dyno tuned cars running Greddy boxes, Uberdata, Hondata and other standalone systems. Guardian has worked without a hiccup so far, and I haven't noticed anything to suggest that it will mysteriously cease functioning in the near future.
Just my $.02.

im not bashing guardian, or the kit..like i said MANY ppl love it, i dont but many do. My friends own a shop in s.a. they told me a minute ago they have done more then the 4 i thought. with a wide band hooked up at certain spots the guardian was leaning the cars out bad. dangerously so. yes this is second hand knowledge but i trust what they said. they have no reason to lie as they install these things alot and people send them business for the installs. It semmed to be leaning out in mid range and also when not at wot. my opinions of the kit dont mean im bashing it. in fact youll rarely see me say anything bad unless someone asks me to state my opinion of it. But you will find more ppl on honda-tech hate CN then like them bc of their awful job on other kits. i mean simply put they ONLY have a good rep on clubrsx.com. Partly due to their attitudes of thinking they know more then they do. Like i said alot of people remember the manifold issues and how they couldnt answer one question i had simply bc they didnt know.but they tried to make others who didnt know think that they did. I have no respect for someone who lies to a customer.
Problems with CN Kit
1.Not a kit to begin with - everything has to be modified
2.Fitment is not so great
3.Quality of parts used are low. IC piping is mild steel that can rust, exhaust manifolds are really questionable.
4.Intercooler piping runs under the car - WTF???
5.Injectors. CN supplies 3.5 ohm siemen injectors that are not meant for the rsx-s. These injectors will eventually fry your ecu if you continue to run low resistance on the k20 ecu.
6.Guardian - makes good power but runs the car unsafely. High a/f ratios along with unsafe ignition advances. Not my cup of tea
Yes I give the kit a big

I dunno dude. Not being an *** but i own a CN kit and have had it about 16 months.
1. No modifications were needed for any of my parts.
2. Fitment was perfect. Everything lined up great on test fits and actual install.
3. IC pips CAN rust, but they recommend you paint them like I did. I live in PA with road salt and all I don't have any rust yet, but like I said I spent the measly extra $50 to paint them. Exhaust manifold works for well over 500WHP. So what if it dosen't have a prize winning appearance - it get's the job done and is 98% outta sight anyways.
4. Piping runs under the IC, yes - but not under the car per se. My piping is all covered by my front bumper cover and dosen't hang below the radiator and condenser - i count that as not being "below" the car.
5. Read the honda specs for the k-series. Their is nothing wrong with the resistance of their injectors. They are well within honda's tolerances. That was a rumor started most likely by hondata because they originally could not get kpro to work with them correctly.
6. Guardian dosen't run hi A/F's. Hook up a portable wide band to any car running it on the street and show some proof. Just because some idiot didn't listen to the warnings about dynoing dosen't mean guardian is running unsafe A/F's. Also don't confuse guardian's lack of manually adjustable ignition timing as meaning it dosen't retard timing when needed to safe levels.
It amazes me how much people have against something they don't even own and seem to think they know it intimately.
BTW, I'm not attacking you. Just making a point. The only advantage i claim to have over you is a full working knowledge of CN's kit due to my own ownership, experiences with it and my long time beta testing the guardian since it's beginning.

look at the new thread from other day on clubrsx about guardians dangerous lean conditions...we used a wideband on 4 cn kitted rsx's here in tx ALL ran lean and it was NOT due to a wiring prob. plus the 3.5ohm injectors?? wtf is up with that. 12ohm should be used....and yes ALL cn kits have to be modified.

I think some of these complaints are due to the earlier civics/tegs. Guys in Dallas also complained about the kits, and threw the piping away, saying they were shitty and all. As for the new k20 motors...they seem to be going good so far....so that's probably why there's so much hate on cn...especially here at old school honda-tech
I've seen the piping on the rsx's...and it's way below the car...you could get on the ground, look under the car and see a the piping..hanging lower than the front bumper.
I have seen a couple of people with rsx's have an ecu go bad...primarily due to the injectors. But that could have been before there was a fix.
One thing people need to at least try to remember...cn is coming along very well imo. I'm sure it's not perfect for some. But I've seen so many customers loving the kit...why would people lie? I doubt they are. I think it will be a while until people let the hate go...they must have had a bad time with the b series motors...now they are more experienced and are correcting the mistakes they made.
I always here about how their manifolds sucked..but now they are just fine imo.

1.Nearly every piece has to be modified. Intercooler piping alone has to be cut like crazy.
2.I didnt think fitment was so great - could of been MUCH better
3.Their IC piping is made of mild steel. Never heard of a kit using steel that could potentially rust
4.Ive seen the IC elbow running off the passanger side of the core go directly under the bumper
5.Using 3.5 ohm injectors on the k series ecu is not a good idea. The injector drivers were never meant to handle this pulse rate. High resistance rc injectors are the right way to do it
6.Ive seen some guardian dynos with a/f's above 12's, even into the 14s. Logically speaking, CN provides 550cc injectors with their kits. 550cc injectors running at 12:1 will not provide enough fuel to a t3/t4 60-1. Anyone running 550s with the 60-1 are running lean. its that simple

are you totally sure about that...by the way, I have kpro...so I'm not trying to be biased here.
I've seen k20 motors tuned with aem stand alone running 550cc injectors with more than 300whp...around 350whp. they had a return fuel line with inline fuel pump...so now if it was just the stock pump...then yeah, I could see it running lean if it were up there around 10psi.
