Rofl Copter and i are thinking about driving along with the north west caravan to expo 5. He is taking his 00 R and i'm wondering if i should ride along with him or drive my 95 gsr along... I'm wondering how the ls/vtec will do on the long drive. the bottom end- balanced crank, arp rod bolts, ls shotpeened rods, arp headstuds, acl bearings. The motor has about 5k on it.. Think it would be safe driving it along? I want to bring it sooo bad, it's just getting out of the shop pully painted and it will be looking great. I'm worried if till hold up well at 3k for hours and hours... I'm already registered for expo, should i ride along or drive?

 

There is only one way to tell if the motor was built properly....

Hell - I'm still running my motor with the misc - junkyard & tractor supply store parts I had to find at Expo 2 (ran the car back on the track to prove it wouldn't break before driving all night home).

Be a man - pay & drive

If it breaks - go kick the *** of your engine builder.

First track time is crazy amounts of fun. No need to think of it any other way

Glad to see your coming with the NW caravan!

 

I would not chance it with all these mix and match parts. If you break, imagine some hicks try to fix your car???

you will be fine. go on a long trip before expo to test it. you will know how good that motor is

If by hicks you mean all of us... you'll find that if you break, there is an entire group of people that know how and will fix stuff.

I know for one, I'll have all my tools with me.

that pretty much covers necessities. all fluids are good, maintenance, you know that stuff

 

i was scared driving my fully built R to NOPI one year, but I beat the **** out of it and it made it there without a hitch

then I blew it up a few thousand miles later
