Default Seatbelts and C-Pillar Bars?

Because my two rear seatbelts are no longer being used I decided to remove them altogether. In the future I would like to use a c-pillar bar but the bolts that would normally hold the c-pillar bar in place are attached to both of the seatbelts I removed. Anyone have this same problem? If so how did you remedy the problem?

Home Depot? Ace Hardware? Lowes? All carry bolts from what I understand. What about pulling the bolts off the seatbelt hardware?

w00t!

I was going to pull the bolts off the seatbelt assemblies like you suggested but I was not sure if that would work because if you look at the specific bolts im talking about there are two or three "things" holding the bolts onto the seatbelt assemblies. What im basically asking is if anyone has removed the bolts from the seatbelt assemblies and then been able to reuse the bolts with out any problems when you reinstall the seatbelt assemblies.

Why not just get new bolts?

Why do you seem so set on tearing apart your stock seat belts to salvage a few dollars worth of bolts?

actually, I never thought about reusing those bolts. The CF C-pillar bar I bought came with the bolts needed to put it on

The bolts off the seat belts will work fine. They might seem too long but if you look at the metal surface just behind the plastic interior right there....you'll see the sheet metal is raised out toward your face. I even went as far as cutting out a portion of area the size of the C-pillar mounting area so the brace mounted straight onto metal instead of having plastic between it and the chasis. That bolt will thread in much deeper than you think. If not, take the bolt from the seat belt to your local Lowes or whatever and tell them you want one shorter. This will insure that the old retired guy helping you doesn't give you a standard bolt with a wide thread or something else that will not work.

Aloha,
Brandon

I used the OEM bolts. However, as Brando said the bolts are a bit too long once you remove the actual seat belt bracket.

All I did was remove the rubber gromet from the bolt and replaced it with washers until the bolt and bar were snug.

G'luck

I went to my local bolt and nut specialty store and purchased 2 bolts that were the correct length, used 1 washer on each side. Works fine. I don't like the idea of stacking washers.

Thanks guys. What I will do is test fit some different bolt combinations and see what works the best. Going back to what Brandon and Opie said about the bolts being too long after you remove the seatbelt guide. Well that's exactly what I was worried about. Thanks again!
