How to identify a Type R head??
yup, they're all stamped the same.. cams are one way to check but they can be swapped too easily.. the dead give away is the larger/lighter intake valves of the itr..
The front of the head is stamped PR3-X for all of them where X will be 1-4.
On the top by the distributor:
92+ heads are all stamped 30 for P30
90-91 heads are stamped 3 for PR3
To tell an itr head, you can look at the distributor arm on the head it will be
painted green. but if that has worn off, then you have to take the valves out
to check the seat blending.

The only real way to be sure is to see if the green strip is on the intake side of the head where the dist bolts up. Look at the pic from C-Speed:

The regular B16a's don't have this........

Yup, that's exactly where I got those pictures from. And if you want to do something you can report them to SafeHarbor and they'll take the appropriate action. But there's less than a day left on it so I dunno if you want to pursue anything. BTW, I quit bidding on it because that head looks like it has more than 7500 miles on it and the seller doesn't have any other pics. Interesting . . .
