I am debating on some upgrades for me car. i have a gsr motor in my hatch. Its between these 3:

Skunk2 intake manifold

chipped p28 or p72 ecu

or vtec controller ( apexi or spoon )

i know all of them are a good combination together but which one will benefit me now. it will take a bit of time to get all 3.

mods on my car are:

ITR cams, pistons, rods, camshafts , valve retainers, and springs

mugen jasma headers

AEM CAI

msd ing. with external plug, nology spark plugs

2 1/2in catback with dynomax muffler

act stage 3 clutch and flywheel

What ecu are you running right now? Just stock p72? I say the chipped p28 and then the manifold

as far as im aware(correct me if i am wrong), the p28 (even when chipped) will not open the secondaries on a gsr manifold, so if you get this you will lose top end power due to your secondaries not opening untill you upgrade to the skunk 2 manifold.

i would get a manifold first. then decide on your engine manegment system. there is no reason to run a chipped ecu with the afc. the afc will just override what is in the chip. i would look into hondata or, if you think you can handle tuning it yourself, uberdata.

your car will never run to its full potental with out getting it tuned, so if you really want to go with the afc then you might get that first so that when you get the mani you can get it tuned in perfectly.

but i would go with the manifold first, and then get it tuned.

 

Well since you have cams then I would go with the Intake Manifold. The Vtec controller would be a waste IMO.

i dont know what to buy yet.. still deciding.. i might just get the manifold first and run the p72 for like a week or 2 and then get a chipped p28..

will it hurt if run the skunk2 manifold with the p72?

so vafc and chipped ecu is not a good combo?
