Default SMS Products Web Site

Sorry, not yet.

I'm really going to try and get this thing pulled together since I've been paying for the domain for almost a year now

It will be http://www.sms-products.com

Since I haven't done this before I thought I'd ask you guys what kind of layout/sections would be considered as good or bad ideas, and helpful. I'm sorry but no girl sections of avatars from Dc2k-specR, eurodeseo, Type R, HX_Guy, Fast94GSR or AssPenny.

Obviously, I'll have pictures of products and prices. In addition, I think I'll have a section on header history as best I can research it. It will be similar to my post right before Christmas that ended up being deleted, since I've gotten a good number of IMs from folks who said they found it interesting and informative.

There will be a technical section that will get into the different tubing designs that have been around for years, gas theory, choice of construction materials, mechanical properties of different tubing materials/sizes/gauges, welding tips and coatings.

This site will require a lot of work to put together and to keep current so I hope it will be a good read while you periodically visit there.

So anything else I should consider?

- FAQ/instructions on what to purchase, remove, or modify from stock (eg. tranny mount & suggestions on oxygen sensor extensions) before installation to make the installation as seamless as possible.
- credit card payment ability. I hear people are not too thrilled with paypal on some sites.
- the pics with the headers and exhaust on a shop floor (eg. Chris' pics) as a background or natural backdrop is better than the ones with drapes IMHO.
- the people shopping for exhausts who aren't as experienced as some here always want to know the dB reading or some description of exhaust note. a .wav file recording to download?
-will you be trying for any CARB 50 state approvals?
-pics of your header in Roger Foo's old Civic? or any future race cars.

- cat cfm, operating temps (the Fi guys ask me this about the Carsound cats)
-coating or painted products charges? separately?

David,

Let me know if you need any help with pictures. I can snap some shots with my digicam.

Thanks,

MD,

Thanks. So it looks like there be install and cat sections. No plan now for CARB approval, if the design changes then you have to go through the process again.

Victor,

I got a Kodak 3700 a couple of months ago. I like the camera except it eats batteries in no time, maybe for the sound files we could use the digicam.

dyno plots are always of interest.

Be prepared to ship to Europe. I`m doing my very best to tell everybody around at our boards and my homepage about your success.

Make sure that billing Visa and Amex cards will be possible for you.

Much good luck with your site. I hear you have some high quality products I'd love to see them and hear about them.

Like a few people here said, prices and pics are key. Keep it simple and watch out that the pics are not HUGE for 56K users. I'm have cabnle myself but, ya know... gotta think of others

prices, definitely prices I hate going to a site and having to e-mail them for pricing and having it take a week to get a response.

What size pictures are considered too big to load in a reasonable amount of time via a dial up connection? Plus I know the number of pictures would have to be limited on each page.

Take a trip to other professional pages and check out the specs of their images... Should give you the right numbers....

Just have 3 different sizes. 1 thumbnail size, 1 mid size, and 1 large. Easy to do if you just take a nice 1024x768 pic with the camera.
