Default EG Foglight: How do you wire them to turn on without turning headlights on?

Hey,

I just got a foglight kit off of ebay. I am going to be installing them in the next couple of weeks but I was just wondering if there is a way to rewire it so that they will go on without having to turn the headlights or parking lights on? I have been, and will continue to search.

Thanks.

do a positive cut off switch thats how i would do it for one of my customers. i work at Tweeter as a custom car stereo installer. just run a 12 guage wire from the pos+ terminal of your battery, to switch, then from switch run a 24 guage to both fog lights (ground each one at or as close to, each lamp)

Did you get the OEM switch with them? Cut the plug off the harness that connects to the fuse box (there should be two wires going to plug), then connnect the wire that goes to the on/off switch to a accessory power ie radio etc., which will turn on the lights when the switch and key are in the on position. Connect the other wire which lights up the switch to your parking lights, which will activate it when lights are turned on.

the kit that i got pretty much has it wired where u don't have to turn on ur headlights or city lights. if u have the depot set then it's in the directions.

You are right. There is a red wire and a white wire that are for the fuse box. So I connect the red wire to the radio power, then the white one to the parking lights?

This may sound gay, but here's the honest answer:

In the movie Boiler Room, there's a yellow Ferrari driving in the city at dusk and he just has his foglights on. It looks badass.

Yes I know, it's a Ferrari. I drive a Honda.

Correct, one can go to the radio power and the other to the parking lights. Not sure of the color of wires I had, I have the depot kit. Just test them and see which one does what and then hook them up and your all set.

you could always just use a toggle switch.
