Hi there. I have just bought a pair of Earthquake Focus 6.5" component speakers for my JDM EG9. I assume the USDM door panels and speaker grilles are the same so i have come here for help.

Does anyone have any links to good DIY How-to's on installing 6.5" speakers in the front of an EG?

Because i tried using the OEM basket and even if i cut the back the speaker will hit the OEM speaker cover. I think i will need to make a spacer from wood. But I want to keep the stock OEM speaker cover.

Any tips, advice, and links to write ups are appreciated. Cheers

i dont have an eg, i have an integra. but what you said is a good idea.. just make a spacer to put around it and give it that extra 1/4" of space or however much you need.

thats pretty much the only way unless you start going into more modifications which in return will not make you look stock

 

Yep. Do the spacer then if you cant get the panel back over (which shouldnt be a problem)the speaker just trim it up a bit. If you have to trim it just toss the speaker cover that comes with your speaker over it and should work/look cool
