Default cost to replace timing belt, valve adjustment, and tune up?

anyone have an idea on what it would cost to do each of the following:

1. Timebelt replacement

2. Valve Adjustment

3. Regular tune-up

Thanks.

Timing belt they usually charge about $300-400 for timing belt and water pump. For a valve adjustment, I think the going rate is around $60-80, they should do it as part of your timing belt change though since they have the Valve cover off already. And the tune-up (dist cap/rotor and plugs) is easy enough that you should just do it yourself and spend the $30 on parts, otherwise a garage may charge over $100.

I paid a buddy to do a timing belt, water pump, valve adjustment, clutch, and flywheel install, and he additionally changed the oil, and tranny fluid. $250 labor for all of it.

costed me about $600 to get all of that done, it will cost you more if you go to the acura dealer.

Valve adjustment at the dealership costs about $100-130.
Timing belt, water pump about $400-500
These prices reflect labor as well

i would never do a timing belt with out doing the water pump ( under normal conditons) might as well do them both while you are doing it. it will save you headaches later down the road

you have to take off the timing belt and covers to replace water pump, that's why might as well do it at the same time, it's worthi it, just in case it fails if you didn't replace it...that's a big no no,
one question tho, how can you tell the dealer or the shop did the valve adjustment? i am sure they'll probably try to scam you for the money...unless there's a good way to tell...

if the valves were loud before they should be relatively quiet. First option would be to take it to a trusted mechanic that you personally know. Second option get the helms book and learn it yourself...

option 2 will save alot of money in your wallet down the road minus the cost of the valvecover gasket and spark plug grommets and hondabond

You should try to find someone knowledgable in your area, a car friend or something, that can work with you so you know how to do it in the future. If you can do a timing belt and not **** it up, you can do alot of stuff
