The best would be a set of Koni Sports (lifetime warranty as long as it isn't a race car)...

The best strut is probably a monotube design with the largest diameter piston practical and a short stroke to match your intended ride height. Koni sports will never compare to something with an external resevoir.

Har.
None of the Koni line uses Exernal reservoirs - and while I'm not saying that you should not use them, they create their own limitations that have to be worked around. It is a trade off.

Anyways, there is no "best" for anything. A race shock is not a good street shock. A good street shock is not going to handle 1000+ lb/in springs on a race track. Pick your budget and do some research on your own. For street use, Konis..... IMO - $500-$550/set.

Let me rephrase that I am getting revavled konis. Don't have the link right now but they advertise in GRM all the time. They revavle and will convert them to 2 way which is what I really need. 550 rear just shoots my *** back up way to fast. Plenty of companies that do this just find one.
But that's getting off the subject
Guy asked for the best...I said custom...leave it at that.

Might as well go w/ 3011's if you're going to convert a set of yellows to DA, shorten, revalve, etc... it ends up being cheaper and its a better shock to start with.
Well I already have them and I have everything set pretty nice I would hate to upset what took me awhile to set. I wish I could find the link but I think it was 125-150 per strut.

Revalving is $100 per shock plus parts ($20-$30). Converting to DA is another $125-$150, IIRC. Shortening I think is $30-$50. It adds up very fast. Sell your yellows, and 3011's are about $400 per corner, are 'built to order' DA race shocks.
