Default Halo Headlight Mod

I bought Halo Headlights for my EG6. They look decent but the halo ring isn't bright enough for me and I knew I was going to have this problem. The ring is made out of that ropelight matierial, not the hard clear plastic that is found on the newer ones. My second alternative is to find some sort of metal ring to cover the halo part. I was thinking of drilling 3mm holes in the back and putting white LED's in to make it brighter. If anyone has done this before or if anyone has any pics I would like to see. Does anyone know where I could get the metal rings?

Flame away on the Halos

P.S. the housing is black

Are you going to retro fit a whole projector assembly in there, is it possible just to use that projector and use an hid bulb and ballast setup?
