Tokico Blue longevity
I recently purchased a front set of used Tokico Blue struts for my accord. I was told that they have about 7,000 miles on them. They were used with a set of 1.5 inch drop lowering springs for that time. They will be used with stock springs on my car. How long can I expect them to last? I was hoping to get about 50,000 or so more miles out of them with somewhat hard driving. Is this too much to ask? I purchased them to replace my blown OEM struts, not really for performance.
thanks in advance

[edit]Also, are these struts rebuildable?[/edit]

the only aftermarket struts for my car made now are tokicos and bilstiens... the only ones in there worth it are the bilstiens, which aren't valved that great for my application...
i have an 88 accord, just so you know the lack of support...

yeah tokico sucks,
but those shocks are rated to handle a 1.5" drop,
so if you're running stock springs you should be ok.
assuming the guy you bought them off wasnt lying about the dropsprings he used.
so basically, what you are using them for, will be just fine,
they are damped SLIGHTLY better than stock shocks.. so it'll be an improvement I think.
but this all depends on whether or not the previous owner ruined them or not.
but you already bought them so **** it.
if you have them, push the piston in/out of the shock,
see if it goes in/out with resistance, or if it just dumps in there easily,
it should resist your attemps and go in/out smoothly.
there should be no oil or anything leaking out also.

well, i was assured that they weren't blown... these are just to hold me over while i fix the rest of the suspension and after i get that done, i'll order some revalved bilstiens with GC coilovers... i figure about 50,000 miles...

hahaha, good luck not changing your mind in 50k miles man.
but anyways, if they're not blown, then you'll definetely be fine for years on stock springs.

eh? what do you mean by that? there's nothing else available for my car... no konis made any longer, the KYBs for my car are garbage, leaving bilstiens... now if koni would again make struts for an ancient car, i would buy them...
