I'm debating on whether to rebuild my mild ls/vtec or buy a used 99' M3. I've seen some clean M3's in my area for around 15-19k that I might be interested in. Or should I rebuild my mild ls/vtec instead and drive it to the ground? Current mods are as follows.
Stock original 180k miles B18A block
B16A head w/ GSR cams
Greddy 4-2-1 header
Carsound highflow cat
RS*R exmag
GC coilover sleeves
Some audio work
JDM 1-piece headlights.

I calculated a rebuild w/ a b16 tranny to come out to approximately $1400 including bolts, gaskets, water/oil pump. If I do decide to keep it, I will buy some rims and new shocks as mine are 15 years old.

My car right now has lots of small dings and such so it's kind of an eyesore at times and I wouldn't mind owning a used version of one of my dream cars. Let me hear what everyone has to say.

I can only afford to keep one car around. I live in a condo with a one car garage and one parking space. Parking space goes to my gf, i get the garage.

 

Get an M3.. They are way nicer...and RWD!! Integras are nice...but I would take an M3 anyday over a teg.

dawg i would get an M3 over a teg, espicially a 90 teg. if your gonna spend 15k-19k, you know you can get a 02-04' WRX for that price. if your gonna upgrade from a teg, you might as well ggo turbo AWD!!! just my .02...

Well, if it were me I'd keep the teg, but not fully build it or whatever. But in your situation, especially seeing as how you live in San Diego and the import theft rates are sky rocketing there, and the fact that the cops are ***** around there, I'd go for the M3.

 

Well my motor is due for a rebuild. I figure I could do it right this time around. Picking up a beemer would mean I would have to make car payments and insurance would go up as well..... Dang... what to do.

I'd be scared to live in San Diego with a honda/acura (I heard the cops dont give a crap about other imports, i.e. Supras, WRX's, etc.) And you're right, the Bimmer would raise insurance and the burden of payments. Thats a tough one.... Have you gotten hassled by the cops for your integra? I hear the cops around daygo are dicks, but it might just be in certain areas.

 

I haven't gotten hastled by cops at all. I live in Scripps Ranch which is a rich part of San Diego but it's right next to Mira Mesa. Mira Mesa is full of ricers. I would think the cops would pick out the ricers as mine is near stock looking. Just a drop with steelies.

And a body kit would make it better how? I believe I said the dings and small scratches were an eye sore. I wish there was a way to ban people from posting in my threads.
