it'll just bolt on. A b-series is a b-series. the question is if you have done the plumbing for the vtec or not. That is a completely different story.
Thanks MarsBike! ohh one more question it will bolt on right i will just need to do some plumbing with the vtec right. will it be a little hard or No Sweet?
you're going to have to do the plumbing for B20/VTEC.. that means you are going to have to tap the block as well as the head for the VTEC oil line since the block is a non-VTEC block.. there are a few kits to make this process easier for you. A company called Golden Eagle makes a VTEC oil line kit for about 219.
First of it depends on which B20 you have, the early blocks used in the preludes will not work. Just the CRV's b20's.
The is a good write up on how to do ls/vtecs(b20/vtecs) on http://www.c-speedracing.com/ in the how-to's section. That method will require enlarging the dowel pins and how to run oil to the b16a head.
The other way to do it which was mentioned earlier involves using the golden eagle kit which is much easier as the dowel pins are designed to fit without machining, and the oil filter adapter allows filtered oil to be sent to the head.
Regardless of which ever method you choose, the head should still be brought to the machineshop to have it resurfaced before final assembly to avoid any future headgasket issues.
