Tire query
I have conducted a search and nothing popped up for my gen. accord. what would be the ideal (generally all around good) tires for my car. now i do live in the seattle area where it rains just about 60% of the year. i'm looking for more like a specific brand of tires that'll be ideal for my conditions.
*and recommendation of size would help too, i plan on either staying with my stock 16" or possible upgrading to a lightweight 17". thanks.

The best performance tire seems to be the Goodyear F1 GS-D3. You can get these at tire rack http://www.tirerack.com. If you can use the 195/45/16 size it is the best deal on this tire. Other sizes are very expensive. Check it out 94 dollars for this size. If money is tight the Sumotomos are a great deal and that is what I am running. Hope to get the Goodyears soon. Tire rack is a great way to go as you will save dollars. Just need to locate a good local installer and you are good to go. I found the Ford Dealer locally has the best reputation for tire install and they did a great job on my expensive rims. No scratches etc.
What year accord?
For 16's I would go with 205/50/16 or 205/45/16 (6th gen or newer go with the bigger sidewall), for 17's I would go with 215/45/17.
As far as tires I would go with yokohama avs 100 for really good summer grip, dunlops are nice too and falken anziens are decent too...not sure what kind of wet grip they have but tirerack should be able to provide that information

thank you for all your advices. i'm still quite not so sure what i'm going to do yet. i'll keep on researching until i find something that catches my interest.
You will need to decide about how much you want to straddle performance vs. water shedding. A lot of the newer performance "all season" tires have great water shedding performance, but they are not the best driving tire for an Accord Sedan 4-cyl. That's the first thing to think about.
Really examine each tire's tread design. A tread design that will shed water all the way out through the sidewall will suit your needs. Do you do lots of highway driving? If so, you'll want a tire with a solid center tread to offer quieter speed driving. There are lots of tires out there with solid center treads and open outer treads.
Main thing: Go to lots of tire sites and read the driver reviews and rank them against the conditions you experience. I can recommend the tires on my Accord Coupe hand's down for my driving style. But, since they do offer more road noise, and offer a stiffer ride, they might not exactly suite your needs in a sedan. I have Toyo Proxes, and I love 'em. But, I put tire response far above noise. Do you?
Check http://tirerack.com for starters, as they do have good info.

i have a 2004 coupe... but anyways, yes, you are correct. i do need to consider all those factors before i finalize a decision. i actually have a pretty even combination between highway and local driving. my drive to school is almost exactly half local, and half highway. and my work is all local, but it is only a 1/4 mile away from where i live... to be honest with you, performance is the last thing that i am looking for (since i never race or even drive in dangerous conditions). my top 2 priorities are tread longevity and quietness.
i am content with the performance i get from my stock bridgestone turanza's (although i don't really know what a "good" tire is since i do not have any grounds for comparison). But i can't use my bridgestones if i step up to 17"-18" wheels. what i want out of this thread is more like personal testimonies and recommendations for the size i should get if i were to pursue going 17"-18" with my preferences in consideration.
but everything all of you have said in this thread were valid information that has helped me out alot. thanks.
