Default whistling sound coming from under the hood

I have a 00 GSR and it sits in my garage during winter to keep it away from the snow. It’s below 10 degrees here now and the garage in unheated.

Today I went to warm my car up and within 10 seconds of being on I started to hear a whistling sound coming from under the hood. I quickly popped the hood and noticed it was coming from the belt area (driver’s side). Then the noise started to get louder so I freaked out and shut the car off.

I called a friend (who’s not a pro mechanic) and he said not to worry about it. That perhaps moisture/condensation combined with the temperature (very cold) sometimes makes the belts sound like that. He said it was prob my serpentine belt, but not to worry about it.

He doesn’t work on Hondas and never has had one so I wanted a second opinion before I turn my car on again…

I searched but the best I could come up with were whistling sounds when driving or coming from the passenger’s side (intake area)

This is my “weekend car” so I don’t drive it too often and it has 45k on it

Any input would be greatly appreciated
