Hey guys, the project is still coming along and today i took of my side moldings. Actaully wasent as hard as i thought i would be. Popped the door panels off .... got underneath the plastic weather gaurd .... snap each pin out and the door part came poppin' off. Then i had to take all the inside back paneling off in order to access the last 3 pins. Popped them out as well and cleaned it up ... did the same to the other side and thats about it ! It was more just a pain in the *** trying to get to the last pins on each side .. you really have to stick your arm in the door to reach em. Well now the 98+ bumpers are installed as well as the 98+ headlights oem corners and tailights and type r lip ... and finally i took of the side moldings. Now just got to send it to get painted and throw on my ldm amber sidemarkers
Ill update pics then ... thanks

gutted the rear panels and seats to get easy access

now justs needs a little welding and paint
sorry the pics are a lil blurry/dark .. posted em quickley today

Have fun
I just started shaving stuff of my teg(this is supposed to be the anti mod vehicle)
And my side mouldings are up next.
I hate welding little tiny holes, you have to go so damn slow and watch the heat to avoid alot of warping.

nice...i wish there was a decent body shop around here that would do some shaving for me. i was trying to get my spoiler holes welded closed and a few of the local shops wanted at least $400

If you were local i would do it for a couple of bucks and some food.

side mouldings = FUGLY
side mouldings = FUGLY
Wow I was under the assumption that removing the body moldings would make it look like a civic with the moldings removed. Now that I know its not fugly like a civic, I may do this to my DC. I got someone in the family who may be able to do the welding for me.
Will someone explain the correct way to shave the mouldings? Do you guys just weld in some sheet metal from the back, then put in filler and sand smooth. Someone mentioned to me that bodyshops just weld in from the front, and then grind it smooth?
Do you need moldings? My car is in the shop right now get a full paint and they have already removed the moldings and filled in the holes. You can have them if you pay for shipping- if the shop hasnt thrown them away...
