Default skunk2 questions(need answers asap)

I will be installing skunk2 stage 2 cams in my b16a2 next week, i will also be installing skunk2 valvesprings and retainers. I need to know whether this will be safe to use with stock valves. I have heard of some people experiencing major problems with using the skunk2 valvesprings.

The car is currently running stock compression but i will be looking to increase it in the future, this is why i have opted for stage 2.

Basically i need to know if i am ok to use the skunk2 valvesprings with this setup? I would have thought that skunk2 would know whats best to use with their cams. Anyone with first hand experience?

Thanks

The Skunk2 valvesprings/retainers and cams were developed to work together, and if installed correctly, there shouldn't be any issues. But with high RPM aftermarket parts, things sometimes break, it's a risk you run with any aftermarket cams/valvetrain.

Think about this also, is the source that you heard about valve failure more reliable than the answers you might get from strangers on a message board?

I ran skunk2 stage 2 cams, with skunk valve springs, and retainers, with no problem. Shifted at about 8800 rpm when racing with no problem. This was on stock compression and stock valves.

Usually the people with problems are always the ones greedy for more power; reving way too high etc. They also install them wrong . Skunk2 springs are good, they're made specifically for their products.

I'm going to running a similar setup (B16A SIR II, Skunk2 Stage 2 cams, valves, springs, retainers, adjustable cam gears). I've been doing a lot of researching as well in regards to a lot of things (HP/TQ, 1/4 times, as well as management, etc). Just wanted to know if anyone has a similar setup as this and can offer any info.

Also, I keep coming upon threads of poeple that have had problems with Skunk2 valve train problems. Any additional info on that?

In addition to management, what fuel and/or ignition upgrades are poeple running. I've gathered that, if needed, you will be ok with stock fuel pump/rail/injectors, as well as stock distributor.

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just trying to gather as much info as I can!

Oh and Cal25, can you update me then with any and all of your results? I'm really interested since our setups are pretty similar. Thanks for anyones help!
