well adapters are pretty much worthless...save your money

another option that is cheap is to make one yourself out of the stock shifter...or have a company do it for you

http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/sh...ifter

this company can adapt your short shifter for you if you wanna research that...goodluck

i put one of those adapters on and it shortened up the throw a little, i think i had 12$ all together in it so i cant complain.

Personally, I think you should save up and get either the forbidden or pspec shifters. I just bought the forbidden one for $118 shipped and I think you should go that route too because its stupid to do things twice if the adapter doesnt end up doing much.

I thought there was going to be a group buy on the forbidden shifters but I guess it didnt happen... I'm ordering one very soon though, from what I hear, they're worth every penny spent.

Hey I installed the forbidden short shifter yesterday and the damn thing kicks ***. You have to buy this and not an adapter.

or you could just spend no more than 50 or 60 bucks for a prelude shifter(50 bucks BRAND NEW from Honda) and two 3 dollar parts from honda and have almost the same height and throw. thas jus what i did, when i got my swap, it came with the whole prelude shift assembly, and i just used the prelude shifter, and accord shift plate, and it looks beautiful. and you can use the stock accord shift **** and boot. nothing like stock look. I AM NOT HATING ON EITHER THE FORBIDDEN OR PSPEC AT ALL!!!, jus wanted to say that for the record cuz i wanted one of them myself for the longest time until i found out the prelude one was shorter than the stock accord one. and since it was all there for free, thats why i did it. all im sayin is its a little less expensive than spending 120-200 bucks for the forbidden or pspec.

does the lude shifter even have the cable pin higher up on the shifter to make the the throw shorter? if not then might as well just saw up the stock one.

i agree. after driving my roommate's 93 prelude s i can tell you the shifter is definitely a shorter height, which makes your shifts feel closer together. i like it much better. as far as where the cables are positioned, i couldn't tell you. but that's what the short shift adapter does. it repositions your cables a little higher up on the stock shifter itself to shorten your throw, without shortening the vertical height of the shifter itself. i noticed a small difference, not a huge one. it was worth the 20 or so bucks i spent on it tho. and then there's always the ghetto method - hack off part of the shifter and then epoxy the threads back on to lower it. that works pretty decent too, but it's a lot easier to screw up.

i can sell you the setup that i was using before i switched to the 4bidden unit...it's basically just a cut shifter ( sits about 2-3 inches lower than stock) and rewelded...i was also using a short shift adapter to make the throws shorter...there was a difference between my setup and the 4bidden, but honestly not all that much...if you're interested, just let me know...

so then is the $12 part off ebay worth my time to try and hook up? or whats the cheapest way to get a shorter lever + a shorter throw?

i just said i'd sell the one i'm not using if you were interested...it's a shortened shifter (cut and rewelded) with a short shift adapter...the short shift adapter helps quite a bit, but the length of the shifter really matters as well...
