The P13 learning curve... any ideas / advice?
Yeah so everyone knows that you 'reset' just about any ecu by unplugging it, waiting a while, and plugging it back in. (well, the battery)
here is where I start scratching my head.
What is the PROPER way for the ECU to re-learn its variables, and how long does it take?
One school of thought is that the car must idle for 10 minutes without touching the throttle. Then, and only then, is the ECU 'set' properly.
Some people say you should drive your car right after it, going to redline at WOT a few times, to get the ECU set right.
well - either way, how does the VAFC play into this? Should it be set to stock while the ECU is learning, then put back at the custom settings after the ECU thinks its got it figured out? Or should the AFC be left at its settings while the car learns whats going on? does it matter? Has anyone ever thought of this? Am I insane? Will a dealer tech know how the ECU resets? Does my car have a little elf in it?
yay for OBDI - now tell me what joo think

What I have always heard is this...drive the car and get it fully warmed up. Park the car and disconnect the battery for at least 1 minute. Reconnect battery and start car. Make sure all accessories are off in the car. Let it idle for 5 minutes.
That's it.
BTW, sweet sig pic man!
