am i the only person that is so retarded i can't remove the front bumper? i can't seem to budge the 9 screws that hold the top of the bumper to the chassi. can some help me out here? i'm so stuck! i sprayed lube on it but none of the screws will budge. they feel like they are welded in!!! am i doing something wrong here?

 

they shouldn't be that hard unless someone previously added thread locker or something. if it comes down to it, drill them out and get some new ones at the dealer, shouldn't be too expensive.

Did you Just try getting them out with a screwdriver, or did you actually try a ratchet with a phillips attachment?

 

i just used a screw driver. does the rachet work better?

 

is your screw driver slipping? Are you using some cheapy one? cuz those don't fit well and will cause slipping.

 

Use the biggest biggest head thats not too pointy.

Do not strip them bitches. I stripped four of mine trying to replace my headlights 2 months ago. Still haven't gotten them off yet. I've been too busy to worry about it. I've got 4 screws holding on my bumper right now. I didn't use the proper tools and I got what I deserved. I'm probably gonna end up drilling them out, but a mechanic at work is gonna look at them one of these days and see if he has an alternative.

 

Don't drill them out. Just get the proper tool for the job: AN IMPACT DRIVER. Your local auto parts store should have them for around $20, or you can go all out and get the Craftsman one for an extra $5. One of the best hand tools I've ever purchased.

pretty sure that drillin em out and just going to acura or even a junkyard at that would be the cheapest route.

but the impact driver would be a good buy

Heh, that's what I bought it for. Those little rotor screws are near impossible to remove without it.

yeah i already changed my rotors out with out them.....i just drilled those lill ******* out after i stripped them. i got the cobalt blanks and tossed the oems. i just bought the impact driver. we'll see how this works.

 

use lots of force and bang the **** out of it, shouldn't have a problem.
