Only found a topic in search for a teg, but there was no useful info. I just replaced my rear lca's with SRR lca's and was wondering if there is any lightweight aftermarket front lca's for 96-00 civics? Thx and leave a link if posible.
Why?
If you say to save weight i'll punch you
. There's 100+ lbs of unsprung weight at each front corner, saving 3 lbs is not going to change anything, and if you get a poorly made product..... well more harm than good.

You could get 99-00 Civic Si Front LCA's which are stamped steel, instead of the stock cast units, and they weigh about 5-10 less each. Not to mention they give you the ability to add a front sway bar
(if you don't have one stock)

Why you ask lol. Because I need new bushings in my lca's. It would be easiest to just replace the lca like I did in the back. I do not want the urethane bushings like energy as for wheel hop and traction are not an issue for me. And Honda doesn't have just bushings for the lca, the make you buy the entire thing. So back to the question at hand, DOES ANYONE KNOW IF AFTERMARKET LCA'S ARE MADE FOR 96-00 CIVICS?

interesting. i didnt think honda wouldnt sell the lower control arm bushings separately. they do for EF's. you can only get the forward compliance bushing for your EK.
anyway, i CAN still get mugen bushings separately. but theyre like $92, $82, $52 repsectively for the compliance, inner and shock bushings, per pair. so its pricey.
if i really had to replace my bushings, id still go with mugen replacements. i wouldnt want something as weak as aluminum in my front suspension unless properly designed and manufactured. but thats just me i guess.

2000 Civic Si. If you use this LCA, you need the matching swaybar. 92-95 civic/sol/teg Sways are NOT compatable.

They are hollow. Top and bottom are welded together. I think I have heard others mention it is stamped steel construction, but I admit I am not 100% sure. The pic above shows the LCA, but it is hard to gather anything from that.
edit: Pics are up. The constuction is similar to JDM ITR rear lower control arms, except there is another piece welded to the bottom.

True, only Civic Si and CTR are bolt on with said LCA.

I already did. I advised against getting aftermarket LCA's to save weight.

come on now, he already knew that and so did you but thats not the point and us still talking about this which im sure you agree is pointless so im going to say have a nice day and i really hope he wants a front sway bar and would like a stronger control arm and thats his reason, but i doubt it

Still, buy an OEM LCA then. I doubt any the crap LCA's i see floating around are actually more robust than a stock LCA.

Especially considering that steel > aluminum.

"Much Lighter and stronger than your stock units. Chromemoly lower control arms reduce your weight up to 24 pounds. Easy to install with basic hand tools. Chrome moly construction is lighter and stronger than stock unit, saving 24 pounds in weight for both sides. Direct, bolt-in replacement is simple to install with common hand tools and requires no welding. Unlike rubber bushings used in stock control arm, spherical bearings allow suspension to move freely without binding or flexing. Black powder coat finish for long lasting appearance 2 per package, includes all mounting hardware."

overkill for this pups app, but for racing it's great.

wow, a topic I thought was dead has reappeared and I notice there's still a few of you who can't comprehend what the problem/question is.
I bought SRR lca's for my rear. This is cheaper than pulling off my stock lca's, taking them to a shop to press out old bushings, press in new ones, and buy the new bushings as well.
My bushings were shot on the front also. I did not want urethane bushings. Honda will not sell the bushings separately, they make you buy the entire lca which is ******* stupid. So I wanted to know if there is front lca's like the rear SRR's I bought. There isn't so I ended up going through what I didn't want to which is pull the lca's off, take them to a shop to be pressed out and buy Prothane bushings to press in.
I never thought this was such a challenging question but others have proved me wrong. So to those who understood thx, for those who asked why, for what, and hope its not for weight you either can't read, or are just plain ignorant.

OT, but I don't like the trailing arm bushing. Set looks rather nice otherwise.
I'm sure .RJ will get a big kick out of the stunnarific "Stage 1 - Street Racing" and "Stage 2 - Drifting" designations, instead of just simply "hard rubber" and "spherical bearing." That made me LOL.
