I looked into them quite a while ago. There have been mixed feeling on the Gude/Bullfrog head packages, most of which seem to stem from "shady" customer service.

There are a bunch more. Just search for Gude under archived in the EG+ forum.

I just got finished building my d16z6 for high- compression and nitrous w/ crower valvetrain and have yet to run it, but after spending a shitload of money to build a sohc motor, I could have made twice the power with half the money by going turbo. Not to be a little all motor bitc*, but power is power. So if you're on a budget building a z6 and you want to get good power, I would turbo the motor. I did a lot of studying for turbos that work w/ d16z6 flow, through compressor maps, and found that the garret t3 w/ .60 trim compressor wheel is perfect for mostly stock z6's and are relatively cheap. Just my $.02.

Everybody in SD was running GUDE head packages in the early 90's on their SOHC and SOHC/VTEC motors. They seemed to do pretty well, using high compression, big cam, and a ton of timing on their ECU's. I never liked their DOHC/VTEC stuff, but the SOHC kits were pretty nice. Bill Gude spent a lot of time at a small local shop, so no one ever had any problems with his customer service, but I've read a few bad things here and there.
