Hey guys, my valves are ticking a bit on my B16a1. My friend told me that the clearance was suppose to be 0.08 for intake and 0.06 for exhaust. Is this correct? If not, what are the correct clearances?

That is not correct. The clearances should be like below

Intake .006 - .008
Exhaust .007 - .009

I usually set mine towards a tighter spec, but do not tighten them to much. I usually get the intake to grab hard on the .007 but that the .006 still has a grip on the feeler guage

Well there are two different measurements on each feeler guage. Mine has a number on the top and one on the bottom of the feeler guage. Maybe the .17 was in a different incriment If not, then damn the bastard that set your valve lash that big

 

He set it in milimeters. So maybe?

 

i set both of mine to 0.007in
i think thats 0.20mm if i remember correctly. but i know 0.007in is safe.
