Inside my headlights the reflective chrome got burnt up i guess and screwed up, so i got bored and decided to paint my headlight housings black. Followed the heating up in oven procedure and then taped off a portion of what was left of the chrome and it actually turned out pretty good. Especially with my new, actually vision-looking amber corners.

I also got some Rota Slipstreams

Your car looks great dude. Maybe some pics of the rest of it? If you have a bunch of pictures, make sure to put them in the photo thread above.

makes me wanna pick up some amber corners for my rex... those slipstreams look good in black on a black car. how do u think dark bronze would look? ive got a very similar look but havent been able to decide between the black and dark bronze.
I notice the difference, it does look good. How did you get the headlight housing seperate? Heat gun, oven, ect..........

i heated them up in the oven for 5 minutes at 225 degrees then i just used a flathead screwdriver to pry them. Dont forget to "chisel" the little metal brackets off. On the inside low beams there is that gray metal bracket cover peice that i took out. I think they are just as bright if not brighter. I used Dupli-color gloss black so that is a bit reflective in a sense. I will get some night pictures tonight with the headlights on and such, all i have now is just ambers on at night....

I have thought about doing the black housing on siR headlights too, since they are more of an eg style headlight and not the two bulb/two section type, i think they would turn out sorta like the EG headlights painted black...which looks badass. Thanks for all the compliments, oh and MtnCRX..i used to have bronze on there and it looked great but the black on black looks so bitchin, especially at night. Check later tonight for more pics

Looks great.
Got me thinking about painted stock housings with an aftermarket "clear" lens from a set of EF angel eyes or projectors... Something to show off the painted housing a bit more.
Feasible?

it won't work right.. the glass on the OEM light is a lense, without it you wont be able to focus the beam.
