will the newer 98+ accord 4 cylinders work? His engine code is F22B1.

 

h22 f22b2 f20b and quite a few more will fit in there.
Tell him to look for an h22 if he wants more power and has some $ to spend...
Whats wrong with the engine?

 

no.. i need it for stock replacement. NO upgrade.. my friend can barely afford to fix his radiator.. let alone an engine. Radiator cracked.. overheated engine, chocolate milk... driving on it for a while.. i recommended to him that he change engines rather than fixing head gasket since there's no telling what damge has been done to the block for running on chocolate milk for a while.
Well anyways, i need to look for engine that will bolt up to his stock transmission. just a stock replacement. Will a 98+ 4 cylinder accord engine bolt up to his transmission? thanks

 

well he could find the exact engine he has in the car right now from 4-500... sometimes they are sold for lower than that. If the engine still runs ok replace the gasket and get it checked out before buying a new engine.

 

most F and H series will bolt in.

 

to be specific.. will a 98 honda accord engine bolt on to a 96 accord? will it bolt on to the 96 accord transmission? thanks

 

its not a direct bolt up

 

94-95 have different intake than 96-97 ; because of emission differences
