chocolate milk like oil... n e chance head gasket can still be good?
friends car was overheating due to bad radiator.. and now the oil looks like chocolate milk. Not good, but he does not have n e money to fix it.... I'm changing the radiator for him. Is there any way that the head gasket mite still be good?
sounds like the chances are slim... aluminum block and head+overheating= trouble. i say run a compression test - but i bet you have a gasket failure between a coolant passage, the combustion chamber, and an oil passage, giving you the soupy chocolate milk oil. good luck
he probably blew a head gasket...I've done it twice, and I had the same kinda oil...chocolate milk type, but mine was more tan, and that means coolant is gettin in the oil system...just keep a chack on the oil and it it turns any lighter, the headgasket is gone
and another thing, if he keeps overheating it he just might have warped the head.

chocolate milke = water mixed with oil
water is getting into the oil somehow
bad headgasket is the most common place

i feel bad for the guy.. he could barely afford to fix his radiator.. let alone a new engine.
I put the new radiator in anyways, knowing full well that there's like .1% chance the engine mite still be good. Start her up.. and air was blowing out like a biatch out of the coolant reservoir tank. Also.. I told him that i would recommend him switching out engines rather than just fixing the head gasket.. because the engine's been running on that chocolate milk for a while, and there's no telling what damage it has done to the block. Do you guys agree with me on that? thanks
