Default MY04+ brake pads

Does anyone know how long these pads last? I took my S to an autocross and had some fun with it, and it was the first time I was actually hard on my brakes. The fronts started squeaking on and off starting with the drive home, but went away two days later after being somewhat gentle on the brakes and engine braking a bit more. I panicked and bought some OEM pads anyways. My cars got 12k miles on it, and at 7.5k interval it had 5mm both front and rear. I dont even know how thick the pads are brand new, so I can't really guesstimate. Thanks for the help.

if you hear the metal sound you should change them up.... metal on metal = bad bad.. and if you dont' change them it'll end up makig you have to change your rotors also

make sure you check your rotors when you change your pads, just in case you need to resurface them

No, I looked and there arent any grooves on them yet, just a smooth satin surface. I know about the importance of resurfacing the rotors. Thanks for the help guys. I still would like to know how long the pads are supposed to last.

The 04's and 05's tend to squeek alot, we've brought ours in for this issue twice and twice we have been told its just squeeky pads...that and INCREDIBLE amounts of brake dust on the front wheels...to which we were told it was normal as well from 2 dealerships.

That's right.

I totally baked a brand new set of OEM pads during a track event at Laguna Seca last year! On the way home my the pedal was mushy as hell so I thought I had boiled the brake fluid. When I finally saw them I found out why the pedal was mushy. I wondered how I made it home after almost 400 miles.

The dust is fine. I can put up with it since I can always clean it off. The squeaking is disturbing as hell though.
