Default Any GSR owners switch to the Type S?

My GSR was stolen 2 times and the 2nd totaled. I love the G3 teg to death, however the theft issue us getting really out of hand and I don't want to go through this again. I was thinking of holding out, save more $$$, and waiting for a 02 type S. What are your thoughts and experiences? I still feel theres somthing special about the GSR's and I was really attached to it. So I'm trying to weight my options.

1. Buy another GSR and have serious stress although I loved the car
2. Save and buy a used 02 type S.

buy another gsr and buy yourself a wheel boot

ppl are gonna steal yer cars if they REALLY want it. nothing's gonna stop them. the RSX can be stolen too. it just takes more effort.

yea im feeling u man. but if u really love a gsr that much u shouldnt give it up. and krystar is rite if they really want a rsx they will get stolen also. also i personally love the style of dc2 more then dc5. no offense to the dc5 owners.

Isn't there a hell of alot less theft with the RSX? Not saying it's not gonna happen, I figured if I save a few G's more I can be in a similar car with less stress.

any honda or acura is going to be a hot car for thieves Gs-r's Si's and ITR's are just more popular because they have been around for a while and parts basically just swap over with no probs and thieves know them pretty well by now ...once they start getting to know K series more rsx's will start getting hit for there motors to drop in EG's and Ek's ...i say whatever you choose to get make sure you get a good alarm, autolock, fuel cut off and etc ...because if they really want it they are going to take it ...but you can just make it that much more harder for them ...

i just recently switched from my 96 gsr to an 05 type-s. No regrets what so ever. If you going to make a change this would be a good vehicle to go with. I got so sick of worrrying about my gsr getting stolen i was over it. I still have the gsr but its gonna be sold very soon. I will miss it, but the rsx reminds me alot of my dc2, just a bit more refined! go for it dooood

no match against a tow truck man. how about an iTR with no ecu, and alarm and a secondary fuel cut. jacked by a tow truck.

nothing will stop them from taking it. you need something good to track it like GPS based system.

Theft rate will play big in insurance cost and insurance cost will tell theft rate
I was looking for 01 GS-R, 01 2.5RS and 02 Type-S for my little brother and these are what I got quoted for.

Car Total - SDIP Discount = Total
01 GS-R $2440-141 = $2299
01 2.5 RS $2045-117 = $1928
02 Type-S $1930-98 = $1832
02 RSX $1880-95 = $1785

That alone shows you which car is stolen more and for that, you pay more for it .
Buy Type-S. My little bro totalled it once already but he walked away w/o single scratch on him. Very safe car .
