96 civic radio removal
got a sony CD player and install kit...don't know how to get the stock radio out...is it the same procedure as the post below for a 01 civic? https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1116799 or are the dashes different?
thanks

remove the knee panel under the steering wheel. remove the glove box. remove the center console. remove the center lower cover (where the ciggy lighter is). Look underneith, and behind the HVAC control unit, you'll see two 10 mm (or was it 8mm??????) bolts. you remove those, and push the unit out. it's really easy, just those two bolts are holding it on from behind. then unplug the OEM peice and you are ready for the new unit.
okay, thanks alot for the reply. the install kit i got got two plugs on it and then all the wires coming out to connect to the CD player. so is it correct that there are 2 plugs inside the dash for the radio?
also i am gonna have to mock up a plastic flange around the CD player to fill the gaps aren't i.
what a pita...oh well has to be done
